Dual Diva Champions: Mickie James & Michelle McCool

WWE Divas Mickie James Michelle McCool
Michelle McCool became the first ever WWE diva to have won both the WWE Divas Championship, and more recently the WWE Women’s Championship. Not only did she announce to Melina and the world on SmackDown that she’d make that distinction, but she backed it up, putting her into the center of divas history. Michelle competed against the Womens Champion Melina at The Bash Pay-Per-View and on that day, June 28, 2009, Michelle won the Womens title, making history. Her other historic feat was to be the first diva to be crowned Divas Champion. She defeated Natalya in the tournament finals on July 20, 2008. So within a year’s time, McCool made huge strides, winning both of these diva titles. You may not agree with her tactics, but Michelle certainly has put herself amongst the cream of the crop when it comes to WWE divas!
But not far behind Michelle in this accomplishment was Raw diva, Mickie James. Mickie was able to pickup a big Pay-Per-View victory over Divas Champion Maryse, to become the new Divas Champion. This went down after months of Mickie James and Maryse feuding, with Maryse cockily taunting Mickie and running away from her. At the Night of Champions Pay-Per-View on July 26th, 2009, Mickie picked up the pinfall win to become the second diva in WWE history to have won both titles. Mickie is just the third diva to have worn the Divas Championship, following previous champs Michelle McCool, and Maryse.
Mickie James has held the WWE Womens title a total of four times in the past, so this was yet another crowning achievement in her amazing divas career. Currently, Mickie has had to battle the likes of Alicia Fox and Beth Phoenix on Raw, with Gail Kim also amongst the top contenders for the Divas title. Mickie James is amongst one of the elite divas in all of WWE today and will only continue her legacy in pro wrestling.
Congratulation to both divas, Mickie James and Michelle McCool for this historic feat! Maybe we’ll see this two wrestling superstar diavs in a champion vs champion match at Wrestlemania 26 in 2010….
